“Wish we had had more confidence to have fed her a vegan diet from the very beginning!”

๐Ÿ’š Lucy is a rescue Border Collie who came to us three years ago. She was very thin, had a very thin coat and was extremely scared. Her digestive system was in a very bad condition too. At first she was on hydrolysed food (commercial – Purina HA) provided by our vet, but still had severe problems.

๐Ÿ’š We tried her on very expensive commercial meat-based food, which didn’t help her problems. Gradually (ie no sudden changes) we introduced all sorts of different foods, but still her problems remained. We are both vegans so we decided to try her on some home cooked vegan food which we learnt about in the Plant-Based Dog Nutrition Course.

๐Ÿ’š Since the very first time she ate it, her digestive issues have completely cleared up. She loves her food and she has grown a luxurious, shiny coat and is full of energy too.

๐Ÿ’š I’m sure we don’t really need to be giving her the commercial kibble anymore, and it’s such a tiny amount, I think we will take her off it soon. We use the JUST BE KIND Supplement.

๐Ÿ’š Her home made food consists of lentils, rice, coconut oil, peanuts, turmeric, mixed herbs and an assortment of vegetables including sweet potato (always), leafy green veg, carrots or other root vegetables, and sometimes an apple or banana. We batch cook and freeze enough for 10 days at a time and she loves it

I started my dog, Cash, on a plant based diet 5 months ago, and the results have been amazing! He is an elderly dog with arthritic hips.

If you are not using a commercially prepared complete vegan dog food, with a formal analysis that you can check for nutritional completeness, be very careful that you are meeting a dog’s nutritional requirements
